Live instructor-led class - Includes Hands-on Practice
This highly interactive, one-day workshop is intended for Senior developers, architects, team leads, and configuration managers who are already familiar with the Subversion concepts and have a solid understanding of configuration management methodologies.
Attendees will gain a sound understanding new features and functionality coming up in Subversion 1.5 and how they might impact deployment scenarios, their use beyond code development, and their benefits beyond the Subversion the tool.
This workshop takes a deep dive into key Subversion 1.5 concentrating on merge tracking, its benefits and functionality. It demonstrates how merge tracking can ensure full traceability across the development project and improve significantly the ease with which development teams can work in parallel.
The afternoon focuses on the deployment and configuration management of Subversion in an enterprise environment and includes discussion on best practices in structuring a repository and data set, branching and merging strategies, and workspace management. Attendees will learn how to collaborate between organisations and across locations and how to address disaster recovery and business continuity. By the end of the day they will have the skills and knowledge to leverage the tremendous value of the open source community as opposed to merely using the software.
